Before your brand website goes live: prepare these 8 categories of material

Design is rarely the reason a website project stalls — missing content is. Here are the eight categories of material to prepare before your brand website goes live.

Why the list comes first

Most disappointing website projects fail on content, not design. Before design starts, get these eight categories ready — it is the difference between a site that launches in weeks and one that stalls for months.

1. Company basics
Registered name, brand name, founding year, staff count, factory area, main markets, certificates.

2. Product structure
Product lines, model numbering logic, and the three to five models you actually want to sell overseas.

3. Specifications
Parameter tables per model, materials, sizes, MOQ, packaging, lead time. One table per product family is enough to start.

4. Visual assets
High-resolution product photos from multiple angles, detail shots, factory and workshop photos, team photos. Original files, not screenshots from a marketplace listing.

5. Application proof
Project photos, application scenarios, and two or three customer stories you can describe without naming the client.

6. Documents
Catalogs, manuals, certificates, test reports — anything a buyer may want to download.

7. Contact and process
Sales contacts, WhatsApp, email, working hours and time zone, plus your inquiry handling process: who replies, in how long.

8. Language and market plan
Which markets come first, and therefore which languages the site needs. Do the top one or two markets properly rather than ten languages badly.

A practical tip

Assign one internal owner and a two-week deadline for the list above. Anything missing after that deadline goes into phase two — do not let perfect material delay the launch.

Once these are ready, the site itself becomes an execution task: structure, design, deployment, inquiry forms and analytics. That is exactly the order we work in with clients.
